Becoming Your Warrior
Feed Your Soul, Not Your Screen Time
Ready for a wake-up call about your scrolling habits? You're about to discover why that endless social media loop might steal your greatest gift to the world.
This episode I dive deep into the battle between consumption and creation in our digital age. I share my struggles with working from home and how the clever algorithms keep us hooked on content perfectly tailored to our interests. Remember life before smartphones? That perspective gives us powerful insight into what we've lost and how to reclaim it.
Your extraordinary gifts—healing others, creating art, teaching, or simply bringing joy—are suppressed every time you choose consumption over creation. When we get trapped in excess patterns—scrolling, shopping, eating, drinking—we disconnect from source energy and the flow state where true magic happens.
The solution isn't about harsh discipline but finding balance. Draw inspiration from others, then kindly get to work, allowing creativity to flow through you. This episode was created exactly this way—no script, just pure creative energy flowing into aligned action. Are you ready to put down your phone and pick up your purpose?
Join me in breaking free from consumption patterns that block your creative potential. Your gifts matter, and the world is waiting for what only you can create. Listen now, then share this message with someone who needs to hear it. Together, we're becoming warriors of creation in a world of endless consumption.

Welcome to the Becoming your Warrior podcast. This is the place where you get to feel inspired and empowered to step into your very best life. Hey, it is Em. We are going to be talking about consumption over creation in this episode, and the reason I want to talk about this is when I'm talking about consumption, I'm talking about, like social media, just consuming social media, or an excess of food, excess of alcohol, excess of anything. Where we're consuming, we're taking it in, as opposed to creation, which is our output, what we are putting out there.
Speaker 1:And the reason I want to talk about this is because full disclosure since I've been working from home and working for myself a lot more, I have definitely noticed my consumption of scrolling and social media has gone up and I've taken steps to reduce that. So now you know, overnight and in the daytime, taken steps to reduce that. So now you know, overnight and in the daytime, my phone and my laptop stay in the living room and they get charged there, so my phone doesn't come into my bedroom with me. So I avoid that. First thing when you wake up and check your alarm is just to jump straight on your phone. So I've removed that. But I found that, you know, even if I was going to upload something on social media, I do it. But then I just end up going down this like Instagram hole or this TikTok hole and just getting caught up and the algorithm is so clever because it's sending me things that really interest me. So I'm like, oh, I'll just watch this, and you know, and this is how it begins. Now, luckily, I'm a little bit older, so for me I'm aware that you know, this isn't healthy, and I didn't grow up like this. I didn't have a phone until I was 17. And that was a brick that had like 10 pounds of credit on and all you could do was dial a number.
Speaker 1:So I have this, I guess, this wisdom of what life is like without having a phone, and then now having this amazing technology that we've got, but, in terms of consumption, what it actually does when you are consuming and consuming, and consuming and consuming, it's actually taking you away from what it is we are all here to do, which is to create. We all have gifts and you might be going. I don't know what my gifts are, that's okay, that's totally cool. But we all are gifts and you might be going. I don't know what my gifts are. That's okay, that's totally cool, but we all are here at this time in the earth, on the earth, for a reason, and you know our purpose is, I believe, to remember who we actually are. But beyond that, we all have gifts that we can offer out on a human level to each person on the planet. So, you know, somebody might have the gift of being incredibly caring or an incredible surgeon, or, you know, a doctor, or somebody who is really good at taking care of people, or somebody who's a singer and a performer and wants to use their voice. So we all have these gifts.
Speaker 1:And when we consume, when we get stuck in that loop of consumption, what that does is that takes away the amazing thing that we have on this planet called time, which is limited to create. And when you are in your creative energy, when you're in that place of flow state, when you're in that place of flow state, when you're in that place of being present and sharing your gifts, whatever they are, you know, and that could just be to share your gifts with yourself. It could be just to paint for you, for the sheer pleasure of it, right To create something. That is what we are all here to do. We're all here to create, and so, while I really appreciate that there are products, there are services out there that allow us to consume, for example, again, social media. It's incredible what is on there, like what I learn through social media I'm inspired by, but you know, it's also like watching an Olympian, you know, break their world record, break the world record. It's inspiration. You watch it and you're inspired, but we're not flicking through that like every three seconds. You know, it's just a moment in time that's been captured, and so I really would love just to invite you today just to look at where you are consuming, where there is an excess of consumption in your life, and that can be food, that can be alcohol, that can be partying, that can be social media, that could be, you know, online porn. That could be. You know, when you are just consuming, you're not in flow state, you're not in the place of okay, like this is what I'm here to do, this is what I'm here to create.
Speaker 1:You are essentially disconnecting yourself from source energy, and you know I have been on a big, big, big journey over the last few years and you know you're going to hear me talk about source a lot more. I think that's a safe word to use and it's very universal. So, whatever source means to you, but when we get stuck in this pattern of consumption alcohol, drugs, online shopping, you know, porn, social media, whatever it is, whatever your vice is we are disconnecting ourselves from source. And when we're in source, when we're like, connected to source, that's when we're present, that's when we create, that's where we are open to ideas, open to new opportunities, open to possibilities, that's where abundance flows through, that's where freedom is, because you are freely creating, you're allowing this creative energy to flow through you.
Speaker 1:So, even as I'm talking right now, I haven't got anything written down Like this is me, just in free flow, and how I got here was I did a little bit of like a dance. Before I got here, I listened to some really uplifting music and then I sat my ass down and now I'm talking to you because now I'm in flow state, I'm in the present, and so I'm creating this. So, even when you're listening to this, just understand you are consuming something and as much as I would love to talk to you all day, what I really would love you to do is hopefully this inspires you to stop the consumption. Maybe switch off your phone, leave your phone at home, go and sit and be with yourself, do some breathing, do like a nice meditation, just, or whatever practices you have that allow you just to be and, from that place, allow the ideas to flow, allow the creativity to flow through you. You might be a skateboarder, you might be a rollerblader, you might be an aerobics teacher, you might be, you know, you might I don't know what you are but you're incredible, you're extraordinary.
Speaker 1:Wherever you are, whatever you're doing, you're extraordinary and it's time to start using this creation, this allowing this creation to flow through you. So that's my little consumption versus creation. There's a balance, right, like watch things and do things to feel inspired, look at what other people are doing for inspiration, not for comparison, for inspiration of what you can do, and then just really kindly get to work. You know, not from a place of burnout, not from a place of pushing yourself, from a place of flow state. Allow that creativity to flow, allow those ideas to come in and start taking aligned action. I love you so much. I hope you're having an amazing morning, afternoon, evening, wherever you are, sending you so, so, so much love, as always, and I will talk to you soon.
